Inspiring Teaching - Meet The Team Blog

Getting to know you

What’s your name and role within Inspiring Teaching?

My name is Muhaymin and I’ve recently started working as a Recruitment Consultant at Inspiring Teaching.

How long have you worked with Inspiring Teaching?

I started working with Inspiring Teaching as a Teaching Assistant in January 2022. I had a short break while working abroad (more on that later) then continued working as a Teaching Assistant until I transitioned to the head office as a Recruitment Consultant in February 2024.

How would you sum up your job in one sentence?

In short, my job is about always being on the go and looking to help others who were in a similar situation to me when I joined Inspiring Teaching.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

Working as a Recruitment Consultant is well suited for me as I genuinely enjoy being organised, finding solutions, and helping others in need.

If you could learn anything instantly, what would it be?

For me, it would be coding. I’d love to use my skills for creating apps to help others in need.

Pineapple on a pizza?

This one may be controversial but yep, I put pineapple on pizza. I genuinely enjoy it and from what I’m hearing I’m the only one in the office who does, means more for me!

What would you choose as a go-to song to put you in a good mood?

I’m constantly surrounded by music so it’s impossible to pick just one. My four favourite artists right now are:

  • The Weeknd

  • Juice WRLD

  • Don Toliver

  • Gunna

If I had to pick a favourite song, I’d say “False Idols” by The Weeknd

What’s the most recent movie or series-binge that you’ve recommended?

I’d choose Narcos on Netflix for this question. Seasons 1 and 2 were my favourites, I stopped watching after that.

Would you rather read a book, listen to an audiobook, or neither?

I’d choose to read a book every time as reading is one of my hobbies. I like informative books and autobiographies.

The most recent book that I read was by ex-SAS Soldier Ant Middleton.

The first ever autobiography that I read was by Alan Shearer. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve been a Newcastle United supporter since then.

What’s your dream holiday destination?

I really want to go to either Los Angeles or Miami. Specifically South Beach in Miami or Venice Beach in LA. I’d also love to go shopping on Rodeo Drive, it’s so iconic.

Your Inspiring Teaching Journey

What did you do before working as a Teaching Assistant?

I worked a mix of jobs including hospitality and stewarding before joining. I left college early as I wanted to work rather than pursue further education.

I grew up playing football and played professionally when I was younger.

Did you consider a career in teaching before joining?

I hadn’t given it much thought, to be honest. My mum and sister work as Teaching Assistants so they gave me more information about the role.

I’m caring by nature and enjoy working with kids, so it felt like a good fit.

What led you to join Inspiring Teaching?

My mum and sister told me about Inspiring Teaching, and they encouraged me to join. I was nervous as I had never worked in SEN, but I enjoy challenges and trying new things.

What was your Teaching Assistant experience like?

I loved it. I worked in the same school for three months before moving to Bangladesh to pursue a professional football opportunity.

"Callum and the team were supportive of me chasing my dreams and placed me in a different school for a year after I returned before I joined the office team as a Recruitment Consultant."

What was the process of you moving to your new role?

I had brought new people into Inspiring Teaching while working as a Teaching Assistant. Callum and I had spoken about moving to a recruitment role previously before I went back to Bangladesh for some more football trials.

After I returned I went through some interviews with the Inspiring Teaching leadership team before starting my new role I February 2024

I’m a people-person and I aspire to inspire. I’ve always wanted to create opportunities for others. A big dream of mine is to create a charity organisation called 79MH. I’ve also been in a position where I didn’t have a job, and I love to create jobs for those in need.

What skills and attributes do you look for when joining Inspiring Teaching?

For me, I look for skills that are transferrable from other work experience. The things that I think are most important are a desire to take initiative, an attitude for learning and a can-do attitude.

It’s also important that people look for enjoyment in their job and have an attitude toward learning new skills.
