Our Meet The Inspiring Teaching Team series takes a slight romantic turn as we find out more about Michael.

Inspiring Teaching - Meet The Team Blog

What’s your name and role within Inspiring Teaching?

My name is Michael Wilcock and I’m a Recruitment Consultant at Inspiring Teaching.

How long have you worked with Inspiring Teaching?

I always know this one as it has romantic links. I started on February 14th 2022, which is Valentines' Day, so I’ve been here for nearly a year and a half.

How would you sum up your job in one sentence?

My role is looking for teaching assistants/cover supervisors with the relevant experience and skills and placing them in local schools that require support.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

For me, it's definitely meeting and learning about people. It makes me happy when we can introduce a candidate to a school and both they and the school are happy with each other. It’s amazing when you can help people change their lives in a job that they enjoy.

If you could learn anything instantly, what would it be?

Learning another language, most likely Spanish. I looked into learning Spanish during lockdown, but I never pursued it further due to a lack of time with work and young kids in the house.

Pineapple on a pizza?

It’s not for me. I’d eat it if it was in front of me, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

What would you choose as a go-to song to put you in a good mood?

I can’t think of a particular song. I like anything with a good beat, to be honest! We listen to Heart radio in the office, and I quite like 90’s music.

What’s the most recent movie or series-binge that you’ve recommended?

I enjoy action movies and programmes.

I really liked "The Night Agent" on Netflix and recommended it to a few people.

Before that, it would probably be the series "Wednesday" from Netflix.

Would you rather read a book, listen to an audiobook, or neither?

I go through phases. I enjoy reading, but it must be a topic that I’m interested in like sports autobiographies.

What’s your dream holiday destination?

I’d say Florida. I’m imagining taking the kids to Orlando for the Disney parks and then relaxing in Miami.
